G-Class Experience Center

Experience the G-Class.

Since 2019, the G-Class Experience Center has been attracting guests from all over the world — and Matthias Malmedie, of course. As a devoted fan of the G-Class, Matthias is just the right person to explore the G-Class Experience Center in Graz and put it to the test. In addition, he gets to be one of the first to experience the highlights of the exclusive G-Class factory delivery. At his side are Peter Schoren, Head of G-Class Sales & Product Management, Uta Koch, Project Manager G-Class Factory Delivery, and instructor Christian Schiffrer, who all hope to convince Matthias of one thing: it can’t get more G-Class than this.

G Base

The DNA of the G-Class.

Peter Schoren takes Matthias on a tour of the G Base and shows him where the off-road legend feels at home. There, he encounters a very special exhibit — the Amber Cube.

Peter also shows him the virtually infinite customisation options of the G-Class Manufaktur: leather options, seats, steering wheels, trim elements and all 40 paint colours. Anyone planning to purchase their own G-Class can physically experience the assorted colours and materials.

Factory delivery

Pick up the G-Class from its home.

Uta Koch, Project Manager G-Class Factory Delivery, shows Matthias what it means to experience a factory delivery — which is now possible at the G-Class Experience Center. You can pick up your G-Class in person in Graz and enjoy an unforgettable day with an exclusive itinerary — including an overnight stay, dinner, a factory tour, and driving experience.

For the 2023 season, only a few exclusive dates are available between 17th April and 16th November – for now, only for customers from Germany. To book your G-Class factory delivery, contact your authorised Mercedes-Benz sales partner.

Testing the G-Class

A pure driving experience.

Matthias’ highlight is the three-hour driving experience with his personal instructor, Christian Schiffrer (also known by his nickname, “Shifty”) — because the vintage blue G-Class beside him is still far too clean for his liking. During the complete off-road experience, which includes the G Rock, inclined off-roading, entanglement and mud driving, Matthias gets to put the G-Class through the most extreme conditions. He realises something in the process: it can’t get more G-Class than this.

The highlight.

Once back at the G Base, Matthias experiences what it might feel like to pick up his own G-Class at the G-Class Experience Center - including the vehicle presentation in the glass cube. His conclusion: "When you go to pick up your car here, you're married to it."
