Off- and on-road.

The all-new G 500 impresses under all operating conditions. Off-road, the combination of high ground clearance, long suspension travel, the proven ladder frame concept and mechanical differential locks continue to ensure impressive handling characteristics.

The new OFFROAD COCKPIT provides an overview of the most important parameters at all times. For the first time, the “transparent bonnet” provides a virtual view under the front of the vehicle. The display is made up of images from the 360°-camera. This makes recognising obstacles such as large stones or deep potholes on the road much easier.

With its electrified motors, the all-new G-Class offers improved responsiveness and greater comfort on paved roads. As mild hybrids with 48-volt technology, they offer optimum power delivery and reduced fuel consumption.

In addition, new A-pillar cladding, a spoiler lip on the roof edge and new insulation materials contribute to improved aerodynamics and increased acoustic comfort.

The striking door handle design and the characteristic closing sound of the doors remain unchanged – but have been technologically updated. The update is accompanied by the integration of KEYLESS-GO: the system makes it possible for the doors to be unlocked and locked without having to hold the key in your hand.

The MANUFAKTUR range for extensive customisation of exterior and interior features has been extended once again: among other things, the two-tone leather upholstery in MANUFAKTUR Catalana beige/black is available for the first time. The MANUFAKTUR full leather package is available on request.

Like all other model variants, the all-new G 500 is equipped with the MBUX infotainment system. A steering wheel of the latest generation, which is also used in other Mercedes-Benz model series, as well as temperature-controlled cup holders and a wireless charging system for mobile devices have been introduced. The Burmester® 3D surround sound system with an additional, illuminated satellite loudspeaker in the headliner enables the immersive Dolby Atmos® audio experience. The MBUX High-End Rear-Seat Entertainment system is available to entertain the occupants in the rear seats.

Additional and enhanced safety and assistance systems round off the overall presence. New to the G-Class, for example, is Active Steering Assist, which supports drivers in the speed range up to 160 km/h with moderate steering interventions when steering the vehicle in the centre of the lane. This can provide relief, especially on monotonous stretches of road.
